Free insulation to help Southlanders

It is commonly known how cold, damp houses can increase respiratory conditions. Insulation is one of the easiest ways to help create a healthier, drier and more comfortable home. And in Southland, NOVAtherm polyester insulation is being used to help hundreds of at risk families create a more comfortable, healthier home.

To combat respiratory health conditions, the Government have begun a new project, offering free insulation in Southland for people holding a community services card who are at high health risk from conditions relating to cold, damp housing. In association with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority’s Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes programme, Awarua Synergy (who have been awarded the contract) aim to insulate 340 Southland homes through to July 2014.
